Long story short…
Below is an extensive record of my professional, educational and recreational experiences that I believe make me a great worker, an excellent communicator and someone you should definitely hire. BUT for the abridged version, you can download my 1-page CV here..
Experience.
In my working life, I have worked in many different roles and spaces - both as an independent and a team member. The variety of my employment history has allowed me to develop a plethora of dynamic skills that I look forward to taking with me into the future!
Copywriter and Social Media Manager
October 2020 - Present
This year, I dove into the world of freelance copywriting and social media managing. So far I have worked for both Industrie and Bashe Design in writing sales copy as well as running the election campaigns via social media for Drew Wolfendale (Fusion Party) and Chris Sdhmidt. In doing so, I have been able to flex my writing muscles by writing creative and engaging copy as well as designing persuasive, eye-catching graphics and most importantly, fostering positive community management.
English Tutor
March 2018 - April 2020
As a private English tutor, I worked independently with students from years 7-12 helping them to understand themes and techniques in various texts as well as formulate essay structure for other subjects. I worked at NumberWorks’nWords May-July 2018 as a group tutor for primary school students, in both English and Mathematics.
Sales Assistant
December 2016 - February 2022
Beginning my career in retail as a seasonal hire at Michael Hill Jewellers in 2016, I became a permanent team member in December 2019. I have amassed great sales experience, customer service skills, and am comfortable achieving high targets and KPIs as well as creating attractive merchandising displays.
Social Influence Assistant
June 2018 - November 2018
At Social Soup, I was tasked with assisting the social team with influencer marketing campaigns. This included outreach, community management and moderation. I learnt how to communicate brand ideas and promote good community sentiment throughout campaigns.
Bachelor of Arts (Theatre and Performance Studies)/ Bachelor of Advanced Studies (English)
Expected to complete in 2022
I am currently in my fourth year of my studies at the University of Sydney. There I have been able to explore performance concepts and skills as well as develop my writing prowess.
Developing these skills inspired me to create this page so that other writers can benefit from my knowledge and experiences. This is an exciting and welcoming space for writer’s to share their work and for me to share my work with the world.
Higher School Certificate
2017
In 2017 I graduated from Monte Sant’ Angelo Mercy College, after completing my HSC where I achieved high marks, in Advanced English, English Extension I, English Extension II and Drama.
Education.
I have always enjoyed growing my knowledge and developing my skills both in the classroom and in the wider world. Fortunately, both of the educational institutions I have attended in the last 10 years, have prepared me well for working independently and collaboratively!
Extras.
I have been privileged enough to take on unique experiences that influence my ways of thinking and attitudes. Have a look at some here:
Student Representative Program
2021
Last year I was the Student Representative for Theatre and Performance Studies Students at the University of Sydney. This was an incredibly exciting role! Typical duties included liaising with department staff, and communicating students' feedback and interests. As well as advising staff on how to best support students and acting on behalf of students regarding departmental issues. However, I was also involved in organising the Save USYD Arts campaign which included mobilising students to oppose cuts to arts programs and has saved the Theatre and Performance Studies department from its threatened closure, earlier this year, thankfully our efforts were successful and TaPS is here to stay!
Duke of Edinburgh Award, Bronze
2014
I have never been a particularly ‘outdoorsy’ person. However I do like to challenge myself and try new things. Completing the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award was one such experience. While the award does call for participants to be involved in voluntary service, physical recreation and learning new skills, it was the adventurous journey aspect that I found the most challenging. Yet, I persisted, canoed up river, hiked through rain and pitched a tent during a massive thunderstorm, and now I can appreciate that what was scary, intimidating and difficult, brought forth my inner determination and persistence.
Timor-Leste Immersion and Volunteer Experience
June 2016
As a high school student, I participated in an immersion experience to Timor Leste. This was a life changing experience. With my classmates and supervising teachers, I travelled to Timor and was involved with teaching English and computer skills to staff and students at Colegio Infante De Sagres in Maliana. We also travelled around East-Timor visiting important historical sites and were invited to meetings held in parliament and were encouraged to share our thoughts on Australian/Timorese relations. While brief, my time in Timor was incredibly eye-opening, confronting and beautiful.
